Factory Planning
As-built documentation using laser scanning offers a detailed and
complete assessment of the real environment. All the building components
as well as the production and process facilities are depicted within a short time,
comprehensively and to scale. Two-dimensional data (floor plans and cross-sections)
or three-dimensional models can be processed further directly in various CAD systems.
Using a laser scanner, better results can be achieved in a shorter time at lower costs
than when using traditional measurement methods.
In factory planning, laser scanning forms the basis of:
• Collision checks (finding interference edges)• Re-designs of the plant and process area
• Layout planning
• The digital factory: Process optimisation and planning
• Virtual reality: three-dimensional simulation of processes and operational procedures
• As-built documentation
